Thomas James was born on February 27th, 1827 in Caldwell Co, Ky.1 Thomas James' father was Thomas W. Peek and his mother was Francis Marshall. His maternal grandparents were George Marshall and Nancy Unknown. He had five brothers and eight sisters, named John Wilson, George Simpson, James T?F?, Benjamin D., Richard Mentril Johnson, Sarah, Mary Ann, Nancy E., Eleanor J., Frances Caroline, Isabella A., Gabriella and Francis (Fannie) Marion (Mae).
