Henry was born about 1420 in Of, Merchiston, Mid Lothian, Scotland.1   Henry's father was Alexander Napier and his mother was Elizabeth Lauder.  His paternal grandfather was Alexander Napier. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, Alexander and Janet.  He was the second oldest of the four children.1
