Maudie Gertrude was born on April 24th, 1894 in Burke Co., GA.1 Maudie Gertrude's father was Charles Rosby Martin and her mother was Eliza Eugenia Magnolia Fletcher. Her paternal grandparents were Charles Edwin Martin and Salina Margaret Sills; her maternal grandparents were Wiley Fletcher and Marther Ann Gibbs. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Benjamin Thomas, Charlie Clarence, Luther Lewllyn, Marvin Lamar, Lillie Belle, Alma Weona, Cora Lee, Ethel Geneva and Ida Mae. She died at the age of 88 in 1982. She was buried in Augusta, Richmond Co., GA.1 1 General Notes
