Her paternal grandparents were Johnathan Harry Lewis and Martha E. Bowles; her maternal grandparents were Daniel H. Tracy and Margaret Ann Tumblin. She had four brothers and eight sisters, named Wayne, Howard, Max, Sam "Clifford", Nellie, Lafranchine Loretta "Doll", Eve, Persis "Margaret", Babe "Gladys", Martha, Pearl and Lewis.1 -
