Francis was born in 1578 in Little Munden, Hertfordshire, England.1   Francis' father was John Kirby and his mother was Joan Cranfield. He had two brothers and three sisters, named John, William, Joan, Ruth and Ruth.  He was the oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 83 on October 12th, 1661 in Conneticut.1
