Mary Elizabeth was born on July 22nd, 1871 in Trout Brook, NY.1 Mary Elizabeth's father was John H. Kautz and her mother was Elizabeth Groszholz. Her paternal grandparents were George Kautz and Maria Ann Ethel; her maternal grandparents were Michael Groszholz and Elizabeth Shouse. She had two brothers and five sisters, named George John, William Lewis, Rose Ann, Emma, Dollie Louise, Nellie Clara and Flora. She was the oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 85 on November 11th, 1956 in Ironton, Lawrence Co, Oh. She was buried in Salt Lick, Ky.1 1 -
