Clarisa F. was born in September 1867 in Screven Co., GA.¹ Clarisa F.'s father was John A. Joyner and her mother was Sarah Frances Cubbedge. Her paternal grandparents were William Joyner and Clary Bragg. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Johnson W., Brutus F., Julian Robertson, Mark S., Leon F., Mary F. and Mattie V.. She was the third oldest of the eight children.¹
