1   Jeremiah's father was Thomas Jennings and his mother was Sarah Bishop.  His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Jennings and Susannah Wade. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Son, Benjamin, Jonathan, Nathan, Ruben, David, Ephraim and Mary.1
