Rebecca was born in 1845.1 Rebecca's father was John B. Hyde and her mother was Eliza Davis. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Hyde and Elizabeth. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, George, John, Kesiah and Mary. She was the third youngest of the six children.1
