John Francis was born on January 4th, 1823 in McIntosh Co., GA.1   John Francis' father was Benjamin Hopkins and his mother was Susan Lodviski Dixon Floyd.  His paternal grandparents were Francis Hopkins and Rebecca Sayre; his maternal grandparents were John Floyd and Isabella Maria Hazard. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Charles Rinaldo, John Floyd, Henry, Joseph Mulvy, Francis, Cornelia Carolina Christina, America Rebecca, Mary Hamilton and Isabella Maria.  He was the oldest of the ten children.  He died at 10 months old on November 6th, 1823 in McIntosh Co., GA.1
