Thomas was born in 1594 in Holismerend, England.1   Thomas' father was Robert Halsey and his mother was Ellen Ale. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Richard, Robert, Edward, William, Joan and Ann.  He was the youngest of the eight children.1
