Robert was born in 1582 in Holismerend, England.1   Robert's father was Robert Halsey and his mother was Ellen Ale. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Richard, Edward, William, Thomas, Joan and Ann.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.1
