Hugh De was born about 1203 in Of, Chillingham, Northumberland, England.¹ Hugh De's father was Henry De Grey and his mother was Isolda (Iseude) Bardolf. His paternal grandparents were Richard De Grey and Mrs-Richard De Grey; his maternal grandparents were Hugh Bardolf and Isobel Aquillion.
