There are descendants of Peter (Christian 2, Johannes l) Fierce still living in Athens County. In 1756 a Jacob Furst landed in Philadelphia and settled in Fayette Co., PA. He owned his land outright and called it Furstberg. No connection has been proved for relationship with Johannes but it was to his neighborhood that John and Catherine Fierce went when they were married. Jacob Furst's will is recorded in Fayettes Co. His son Jacob moved to Athens Co. about the time John and Catherine went there and Jacob later moved to Hamilton Co., Ind. about the time Jacob failed to show relationship, they knew nothing of anything previous to residence in Hamilton Co. The name in whatever spelling is not a common one and not many bear it. There have been a few immigrants in the l800s, some of whom were Catholic in religiion. Johannes Furst and his descendants were all Protestants and likely were Lutherans originally.
