Barbara was born on March 15th, 1867.1   Barbara's father was George Dilling and her mother was Sarah Burkett.  Her paternal grandparents were Conrad Dilling and Elizabeth Brumbaugh. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Isaac, Adam, Andrew J., Emanuel, William, Harvey, Susanna and Nancy.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children. She had six half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Jacob, John, Samuel, Daniel, George, David, Mary A., Catherine, Elizabeth and Sara Ann.1
