Ruth Delano 
Ruth was born on May 25th, 1707 in Duxbury, Massachusetts.1 Ruth's father was Jonathan Delano and her mother was Hannah (Doten) Doty. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Delano and Rebecca Alden; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Doty and Mary Churchill. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Jonathan, Nathan, Amasa \Amaziah, Ebenezer, David, Hannah, Dorothy and Dorothy. She was the fourth oldest of the ten children.1 General Notes

On 9 January 1735 John Peterson of Rochester, husbandman, sold land in Middleborough to John Thomas.
At the December 1735 Court, Stephen Andrews sued John Peterson of Rochester or Duxborough, housewright, for debt.
On 1 May 1754 John Peterson and Seth Randall of Rochester divided joint property.
On 27 November 1756 John Pterson of Richmond, Kings Co. Rhode Island sold land in Middleboro where he had dwelled, to John Bishop. Wife Ruth Peterson relinquished her right of dower.
On 18 April 1759 John Peterson of Richmond gave 80 acres to son Ichabod. On 7 September 1761 he sold 444 acres.
On 24 June 1765 John Peterson of the town of Scituate in the county of Providence in the Colony of Rhode Island sold a parcel of cedar swamp lying between Middleborough and Rochester to son Silvanus Peterson of Middleborough.
Note: Except for Silvanus and Ichabod, none of the children listed below can be directly attributed to John and Ruth (Delano) Peterson. However, the deeds listed above show that John Peterson lived in the towns at the times his children were married there. There was no other Peterson family known to be living there at the same time.
No Rhode Island probate record for John Peterson has been found.
