Thomas Doty 
Thomas was born in 1641 in Plymouth Co., Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 Thomas' father was Edward Doty and his mother was Faith Clarke. His paternal grandparents were John Douty and Anne Holland; his maternal grandparents were Thurston (Tristam) Clarke and Faith. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Edward, John, Samuel, Joseph, Isaac, Desire, Elizabeth and Mary. He died at the age of 37 on December 4th, 1678 in Plymouth Co., Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 General Notes

Thomas Doty first appeard in Plymouth records on July 2, 1667, when he lost a suit brought by John Barnes for detaining four score and ten pounds of tobacco.
On January 17, 1671/2, Mary Churchill confessed to the Court that she had been begotten with child by Thomas Doty during the previous July or August, shortly before Thomas Doty had departed the government. On June 5, 1672, she was fined 6 pounds for this transgression. On October 30, 1672, Mary Churchill brought suit aginst Thomas Doty for having begotten her with child. The sympathetic jury found for the plaintiff in all particulars; and awarded her all Thomas Doty's property consisting o fhis one-third share of a boat and fishing equipment, a gun, a rapier, and parcel of boards and 40 shillings due from Richard Wills.
On March 5, 1671/2, Josias Wormall complained that he had been engaged to frame a house for Thomas Doty, but that Doty had departed the government without paying him. The Court ordered that Joseph Doty, acting for Thomas Doty, be given the opportunity to fulfill the agreement; othewise Josias Wormall might make sale to satisify himself. When Joseph Doty declined, Josias Wormall sold the property and was thereby satisfied.
