William Lafayette was born on April 6th, 1872 in Osnaburgh, Stark, OH.1 William Lafayette's father was Charles C. McCoy and his mother was Janet Stevenson. His paternal grandparents were Edward McCoy and Anna Reese. He had a sister named Sarah A.. He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William Andrew and Agnes. He died at the age of 69 on February 23rd, 1942 in Canton, Stark, OH. !Sharon L. Coy states "Charles W. Coy" son of Janet and Charles was raised
by a family named Neidig. William Lafayette was known in later life as Charles
W. Coy. According to letters received from Sharon Coy (wife of Chas. grandson)
and Yvonne Bess (granddaughter of Chas.), Wm. was raised by the Neidig
family after his father died!Canton Repository paper date 12/19/1878. The

drowning while working in a well about two miles south of Osnaburg. In
possession of Yvonne Bees, great-granddaughter in Florida. Charles C. Coy was
the father of William.
