!Lafayette McCoy shows up on the 1850 Census, Mahoning Co. as the brother
of Edward McCoy, pg. 99. There also appears a Stephen, age 84 born
in Massachusetts.

VT still a part of NH when first settlements were made on the West side
of the CT River. William Maccoy purchased land in CT 1718. Four Coy
familes listed in 1790 Census of VT. Stephen Coy and Edward Coy, Jr.
were brothers. NH weddings: Amas Coye and Eunice Fisher, Apr 4 1805;
Edward Coy and Sophia Butler, Nov 3 1806.
!According to Chester Coy records: Name changed to Coy between 1850 and
1860.
!Marriage record found in LDS IGI, Batch 13341, Source Call No. 891357; Portage
County, OH.
!Edward McCoy appears on the 1840 Carroll County, OH Census, the 1850 Mahoning
County, OH Census, the 1860 Stark County OH Census.
!Death record in Tuscarawas County, OH. He was a coal miner and had a boat
used to transport the coal.
