Joseph was born in May 1793 in Welton, Northamptonshire, Eng..1 Joseph's father was John Chamberlain and his mother was Ann Eales. His paternal grandparents were John Chamberlain and Alice Unknown. He had six brothers and two sisters, named John, Robert, Thomas, Thomas, Richard, Francis, Ann and Mary. He was the second youngest of the nine children.1 -
