Mary Elizabeth was born on September 21st, 1847 in Livingston County, Mo. Mary Elizabeth's father was David S. Breeze and her mother was Elizabeth Spaulding. Her paternal grandparents were John Breeze and Sarah Hollaway; her maternal grandfather was Philip Spaulding. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, David H., Thomas S., James M., George W., Lucinda and Clarinda. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died in Trenton, Mo.-
