Anna Fredericke Antonie was born on January 18th, 1829 in Drense, Uckermark, Brandenburg, Germany.1 Anna Fredericke Antonie's father was Georg Carl Fredrick Brandt and her mother was Dorothea Sophie Grambow. Her paternal grandparents were Georg Brandt and Maria Ludke; her maternal grandparents were Christian Fredrich Grambow and Regine Hildebrandt. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Hermann, Wilhelm Friedrick Ludwig, Emilie, Hermine Wilhelmine Ernestine, Fredericke Wilhelmine and Fredericke. She was the oldest of the seven children.
