Samuel Jacob Booker 
Samuel Jacob was born on December 14th, 1825 in Point Pleasant, Bland Co., VA.1 Samuel Jacob's father was George L. Booker and his mother was Sabelle Malinda Ruport. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Booker and Mary Anne Witzell. He had two brothers and a sister, named Henry Alexander, Benjamin Franklin and Theresa Ann. He died at the age of 37 on July 14th, 1863 in Paloma, Adams Co., IL.1 General Notes

Samuel Jacob Booker was adoped by Benjamin Sears after his mother died and was taken to Illinois. He enlisted in Company G, 70th Illinois Volunteer Infantry at Camp Point, Illinois. He served during the Civil War until December 1862, when he became ill and was placed in the Field Hospital at New Haven, Kentucky. He was later moved to Louisville, Kentucky and in March 1863, he was brought to Quincy, Illinois. He was discharged from service on April 16, 11863, and went home to Paloma, Illinois, where he died on July 14, 1863 as a result of his war service.
