Rubin R. was born on June 1st, 1831.1   Rubin R.'s father was John Banaja Berry and his mother was Mary A. Metzger.  His paternal grandparents were John Berry and Mary Reiser Hoffman; his maternal grandparents were David Metzger and Mary Waters. He had three brothers and six sisters, named John D., James Franklin, George Washington, Mary Maria, Martha Harriett, Margaret Elizabeth, Sarah Jane, Susan Ann and Amelia Katherine.  He was the third oldest of the ten children. He had a half-sister named Sarah Amelia.  He died at the age of 17 on July 4th, 1848.1
