Robert was born about 1174 in Of, Great Carlton, Lincolnshire, England.1 Robert's father was Hugh Bardolf and his mother was Isobel Aquillion. His paternal grandparents were Hugo Bardolf and Mrs-Hugo Bardolf. He had a brother and six sisters, named Hugh, Isolda (Iseude), Juliana, Cecilia, Matilda, Daughter and Beatrice. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.1 -
