Elkannah was born on April 22nd, 1690 in Taunton, Bristol, MA.1 Elkannah's father was Elkanah Babbit (Bobet) and his mother was Elizabeth Briggs. His paternal grandparents were Edward Babbitt and Sarah Tarne; his maternal grandparents were William Briggs and Sarah Macomber. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Captain Elkanah, Benjamin, Josiah, Joseph, Damaris, Dorcas, Hopestill, Mercy, Sarah and Elizabeth. He died about April 1754 in Berkley, MA.1 -
