William Allen 
William was born on May 31st, 1882 in 5 Lily Grove,Walton,Liverpool,Lancs.1 William's father was John Allen and his mother was Elizabeth Battersby. His paternal grandparents were John Allen and Elizabeth Wainwright; his maternal grandparents were James Battersby and Jane Lilley. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, James, Richard, George, Emily Jane, Hannah, Ellen, Sarah and Sarah Lily. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.1 -
