His paternal grandparents were Obadiah STRADLING and Martha Sheldrick; his maternal grandparents were James Bush and Sophia Humphreys. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John Henry, Joseph Obadiah, James William Albert, Owen Michael, Mary Ann, Selina Martha, Sarah Ann, Rose Violet Mattie and Susan Elizabeth. He was the third youngest of the ten children. He had two half-brothers named Elijah Charles and Thomas. He died at the age of 82 on May 31st, 1957 in Provo, Utah.
