His paternal grandparents were Michael Stradling and Sarah Gill. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Joseph, Hugh, Ephraim, Sarah, Susan and Johanna. He died at the age of 87 on August 17th, 1912 in Provo, Utah. He was buried on August 19th, 1912 in Provo City Cemetery, Provo, Utah.1 General Notes
