Ann was born in 1763 in Wellington, Somerset, England. Ann's father was Michael Stradling and her mother was Sarah Gill. Her paternal grandparents were Michael Stradling and Hannah Stradling. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Michael, William, Obadiah, Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth. She was the third youngest of the seven children.-
