Alexander F was born on December 2nd, 1832 in Lee, Virginia, USA.1 Alexander F's father was Thomas Hugh Jonas Smyth and his mother was Nancy M Orr. His paternal grandparents were Edward Smyth and Hannah Crabtree; his maternal grandparents were Alexander Orr and Margaret Peggy Ramsey. He had a brother and six sisters, named James, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Elizah Jane, Virginia and Rebecca. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers named William and George. He died at the age of 53 on March 25th, 1886 in Lee, Virginia, USA.1 -
