Elizabeth Jane was born in 1831 in Franklin, GA.1 Elizabeth Jane's father was Asa Sewell and her mother was Nancy Maria Mitchell. Her paternal grandparents were Joshua L Sewell and Jennie Willis. She had six brothers and four sisters, named James H, John J, Mason Perry, William Asa, Henry G, Wilie, Martha T, Harriet F(Henrietta), Orra S and Nancy C. She was the oldest of the eleven children.-
