Beverley Randolph 
Beverley was born on September 11th, 1753 in Henrico, VA, USA.1 Beverley's father was Peter Randolph and his mother was Lucy Bolling. His paternal grandparents were William Jr Randolph and Elizabeth Beverly; his maternal grandparents were Robert Bolling and Anne Cocke. He had two brothers and a sister, named Robert, William and Anne. He died at the age of 43 in February 1797 in Green Creek, Cumberland, VA, USA. Beverley Randolph (September 11, 1753– February 1797) was an American politician from Virginia. He served as governor of Virginia from 1788 to 1791.
Beverley was born to Peter and Lucy (Bolling) Randolph at Turkey Island in Henrico County and educated at William and Mary. (Turkey Island is both an island in the James River and the name of the Randolph family plantation.) He married Martha Cocke in 1775.
Beverley served in the militia during the Revolutionary War and was a member of the state's House of Delegates from 1777 to 1780. He was elected Governor in 1788, the first to be elected after Virginia became a state. He died on his farm near Green Creek in Cumberland County and is buried in the Westview Cemtery in nearby Farmville, Virginia.

Beverly was b. at Chatsworth 1734, and married Martha Cooke. He died at his residence "Green Creek," in Feb. 1797. He succeeded Edmond Randolph as Gov. of Virginia, Dec. 1, 1788, and served until Dec. 1, 1791. He was succeeded by Gen. "Light Horse" Harry Lee.

Randolph, Col., Beverly, d on Tues 7 Feb 1797 at his residence on Green Cr. in Cumberland Co. in his 43rd year. Though debilitated by an hereditary gout at a very early part of his life, e never shrunk from his portion of military duty: he was in arms at different periods from 1775 to the end of our late Revolutionary War; in 1781, at the head of a regt of the yeomanry of his country, he gained honor in the action at Guilford Ct H under the orders of Gen Green; in the same year he served in the combined American and French armies before Yorktown.
His executors, William randolph and Creed Taylor, will sell his HHF and 20 of his Negroes at his plant in Cumberland Co.(28 Mar & 1 Apr 1797 Virginia Gazette and Weekly Advertiser)

Orr, late a private in Buford's Detachment and who died in the service of the
United States is entitled to the sum of six pounds yearly to commence from the

Commonwealth of Virginia/ the Governor being absent/ at Richmond, this 16th day
of April 1787.
