David L. was born in 1857 in Tennessee.1 David L.'s father was Thomas Orr and his mother was Harriett N. Orr. His paternal grandparents were Alexander Jr Orr and Agnes Nancy Kinkade. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Albert L., Harvey L., Parthena and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the five children.-
