Annie was born in 1855 in Lafayette, Missouri, USA.1 Annie's father was Thomas Neale and her mother was Margaret Brevard Davidson. Her paternal grandparents were William Neale and Sally Blackwell. She had a brother and two sisters, named George Lafayette, Arabella Fransis and Josephine E. She was the youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named William C, James Young, William C, Jenney, Mary Ann and George Lafayette.-
