Hezekiah was born in 1802 in Mecklenburg, NC, USA.1 Hezekiah's father was Amos Alexander and his mother was Mildridge Orr. His paternal grandparents were Hezekiah Alexander and Mary Sample; his maternal grandparents were Nathan Orr and Mildredge. He had three brothers and a sister, named Alanson, Johantham, Ulysses and Joseph. He was the third oldest of the five children.-
