Ludwig von Hessen-Philippsthal 
Ludwig was born in 1766. Ludwig's father was Wilhelm von Hessen-Philippsthal and his mother was Ulrike Eleonor von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld. His paternal grandparents were Karl von Hessen-Philippsthal and Kathariene Christine von Sachsen-Eisenach; his maternal grandparents were Wilhelm von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld and Charlotte von Anhalt-Bernburg. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Karl, Wilhelm, Friedrich, Ernst Konstantin, Karoline, Friederike and Charlotte Amalie. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 50 in 1816.-
