Alexander von Bulgarien 
Alexander was born in 1857. Alexander's father was Alexander von Hessen and the Rhine and his mother was Julia von Battenberg von Hauke. His paternal grandparents were Ludwig II von Hessen und dem Rhein and Wilhelmina von Baden; his maternal grandparents were John Maurice von Hauke and Sophie la Fontaine. He had three brothers and a sister, named Louis Prinz, Henry Maurice, Franz Joseph and Marie. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 36 in 1893.
