Lodewijk Count was born about 1188 in Of, Zutphen, Gelderland, Netherlands.1 Lodewijk Count's father was Otto I Count von Gelre and his mother was Richardis Prinzessin von Bayern. His paternal grandparents were Hendrik Count Van Gelre and Agnes Von Arnstein; his maternal grandparents were Otto I (V) von Bayern and Agnes Countess von Looz & Rieneck. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Gerard Count, Hendrik Count, Aleid Countess, Margaretha Countess, Irmgard Countess and Mechteld Countess. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He died on June 21st, 1217.1 -
