Aleid Countess was born about 1187 in Of, Zutphen, Gelderland, Netherlands.1 Aleid Countess' father was Otto I Count von Gelre and her mother was Richardis Prinzessin von Bayern. Her paternal grandparents were Hendrik Count Van Gelre and Agnes Von Arnstein; her maternal grandparents were Otto I (V) von Bayern and Agnes Countess von Looz & Rieneck. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Gerard Count, Hendrik Count, Lodewijk Count, Margaretha Countess, Irmgard Countess and Mechteld Countess. She was the third oldest of the seven children. She died on February 4th, 1218.1 -
