Barnet Whatlington was born on June 24th, 1812 in Simpson's Bay, St. Martin Island, West Indies.1 Barnet Whatlington's father was Arthur Potter and his mother was Margaret White. His maternal grandparents were White and Hartshorn. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Arthur, Charles Wilhelm, Frederick Carl Christian Monroe, Anne Eliza, Margaret, Mary Elizabeth "Tito", Sara Whatlington "Sal", Louisa, Alice Jane Tatum and Mary Etholinda "Ethie". He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died in Santa Cruz Island (St. Croix), West Indies.1 -
