Martha Ella was born on September 8th, 1855 in Fortson, GA.1 Martha Ella's father was Thomas Daniel Fortson and her mother was Georgia Mealing. Her paternal grandparents were Jesse Fortson and Mary Ballinger White; her maternal grandfather was William Mealing. She had a brother, and also a sibling of unknown gender named Thomas Willis and Dovie E.. She had a half-brother named Henry Pruitt. She died at the age of 77 on December 19th, 1932.1 -
