Joseph Bowens York 
Joseph Bowens was born on November 5th, 1830 in Rabun County, GA. Joseph Bowens' father was Jeremiah York and his mother was Margaret Donelson or Dollison?. His paternal grandparents were Seymour (Semore) York and Meriam Beck; his maternal grandparents were William Donaldson and Unknown. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Reverend, John Marion, Elisha Newton, Martin Van Buren, Cicero C., Adeline, Mary Margaret and Caroline. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named John L. and Margaret. He died at the age of 83 on July 29th, 1914 in Rabun County, GA. He was buried in Persimmon Baptist Church Cemetary.General Notes
