His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Aldridge and Margaret ?; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Beeson and Caplin may not be her maiden name. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Sydney (Janey), Nicholas, William, James A., Anne, Joanne (Jane) and Jane. He died in 1770 in Randolph Co, NC.
