Ludwig II was born on April 13th, 1229 in Munchen, Oberbayern, Bavaria.  Ludwig II's father was Otto II "der Erlauchte" Von Bayern and his mother was Agnes of the Rhein.  His paternal grandparents were Ludwig I der Kehlheimer Von Bayern and Ludmilla Von Bohmen; his maternal grandparents were Henry and Agnes Von Staufen. He had a brother and a sister, named Heinrich I (XIII) and Elisabeth.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died in Munchen, Oberbayern, Bavaria.  He was buried in Furstenfeld.
