Maude (Mathilda) of Apulia was born in Apulia or Puglia, Calabria, Italy.  Maude (Mathilda) of Apulia's father was Robert I Guiscard de Hauteville and her mother was Sichelgaita of Salerno.  Her paternal grandparents were Tancred of Hauteville and Fredistina or Fredesende of Normandy; her maternal grandparents were Guaimar IV of Salerno and Porpora of Tabellaria. She had seven brothers and a sister, named Roger I of, William, Tancred, Hubert, Guy, Mauger, Alfred and Fressenda. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Bohemund of, Constance and Emma.  She died in Gerona.

‌Maude (Mathilda) of Apulia and Raymond were married in a religious ceremony about 1078.  They had a son and a daughter, named Raymond III "The Great" and Stephanie (Etiennete).
