Louisiana Bell was born on August 6th, 1861 in Louisiana. Louisiana Bell's father was Washington Hamilton Aldridge and her mother was Julia Ann Hendrix. Her paternal grandparents were Abner Aldridge and Rebecca House; her maternal grandfather was Reuben Hendrix. She had six brothers and four sisters, named William James, Charles Washington, Augustus Murat, Aberdeen, Pinckney Beauregard, Dread Thomas, Anne Rebecca, California Adeline, Frances Harriet and Susan Alice. She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.-
