Phebe was born on October 2nd, 1792 in New Garden Mm, Guilford, NC. Phebe's father was Edward Thornburgh and her mother was Phebe Sumner. Her paternal grandparents are Joseph Thornburgh and Nancy Ann Armfield; her maternal grandparents were Robert Sumner and Phoebe Beals. She has three brothers and three sisters, named Nathan, Edward, Jacob, Sarah, Elizabeth and Jane. She is the fourth oldest of the seven children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Joseph and Mary Margaret.General Notes
