Ann was born on August 7th, 1798 in Forsyth, NC.  Ann's father was Doughty Stockton and her mother is Elizabeth Perkins. She has two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas C., William F., Mary Ann, Nancy Doughty and Sarah Bell.  She is the third youngest of the six children.
