John Jacob Michelet 
John Jacob was born on December 17th, 1737 in Whitehall, PA. John Jacob's father was Jean Jacques Michelet and his mother is Elizabeth Barbara Burkhalter. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John Martin, John Peter, Henry, Mary Magdalena and Barbara. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 62 on December 12th, 1800 in Whitehall, PA.General Notes
John was a member of the general committee and commissary of issues during the Revolutionary War. "He brought the State House or Liberty Bell from Philadelphia via Bethlehem to Allentown, PA on September 23, 1777. John was killed when a tree near his home fell on him. "Wyoming & Lackawanna Valleys, Pennsylvania Genealogies & Family Histories, Vol. 1" Page 399.
John Jacob and Susannah were married in a religious ceremony on November 20th, 1760. They had a son named Christian.
